A Personal Message From Specialist Physical Therapist,

"Sharp pain" or "dull aches" are frustrating when practicing or during games. How can you perform your best when having discomfort? You feel like you can’t give 100%. You may feel as if your only option is to take painkillers or stop playing all together (maybe that's what your doctor told you was your only option...)
Let's be honest...you don't want your only options to be medications or to stop playing all together. It's something you love. It's a part of you.
I work closely with different athletes on a regular basis...I also coach high school lacrosse and have coached football in the past. What I can tell you is that all those painkillers are not good for your stomach, and the long periods of rest you've been told about are not likely to help. Why? Because they don't solve the MAIN PROBLEM. Painkillers and rest are "bandaids" that temporarily relieve pain. What happens when you stop doing them? The pain returns...
Athletes do not have to live with nagging aches and pains. In fact, it is not normal for athletes to have these discomforts. There are ways to train your body to be able to withstand the high-impact demands of sports AND keep your body healthy and resilient.
I don't want any athletes to suffer from unnecessary injury. But I understand that injuries are part of the game and at times, just be bad luck. Because of this, I work with athletes to help relieve their pain and discomfort, strengthen their bodies to become more resilient to injury, and increase performance when they take on the competition.
I want you to image how life would be in 3 months if you could alleviate the discomfort from your athletic injury right now? How about 6 months? A year? I bet you have dreams and goals that you want to accomplish in the gym. Let's not let an injury stop you.

"After being diagnosed with a very uncommon injury I decided to visit Andy to see if he could help. He had done wonders for my husband following an auto accident. Having been in the fitness industry my entire life, I knew that all PT’s are not created equal. I still went in to see him with some reservation. He did my evaluation and said he had done some research on my condition and contacted my doctor. He really knew more than any of the 7 doctors I had gone to see locally. I actually was diagnosed 1,200 miles from home from a core specialist. Ultimately, we were hoping to prevent me from having to have surgery, but after looking at my mri, he said it was inevitable. Usually I question physicians!!!! I know when Andy talks it is what it is. I never doubted anything he said. He really is that good. I was fortunate to have had him help me and my husband before he relocated. We really miss working with him as he cannot be replaced. He is by far the best PT I have ever come in contact with personally and professionally."
"In 2016 I tore my glute playing tennis and in 2017 I tore my meniscus in my right knee. Dr. Andy Cook helped me immensely and was instrumental in my rehabilitation. At 76 years old I feel I am totally recovered and back playing tennis and golf. I would highly recommend Andy for rehabilitation (He diagnosed my torn glute while I was being erroneously treated for a bulging disc)."
"I have been suffering with back and hip issues for years and after my sessions with Dr. Cook I couldn’t be more pleased. The combination of dry needling and physical therapy exercises and recommended supplements have made me feel better than anything else I have tried....and I have tried it all! Thanks, Andy."
